In a state where the entire Nipper program is sponsored by petroleum giant, Woodside, it’s grimly unsurprising that WA’s Royal Life Saving is now laundering the reputations of Mitsui E&P Australia and Beach Energy.
Part of the Japanese group, Mitsui E&P is one of Australia’s largest oil and gas companies with around 30 new projects in development.
Beach Energy also runs gas projects around the country with plans to expand.
Now they claim to be “investing in the future and safety of children in the Mid West” by subsidising a few swim classes.
By the time these children are middle aged, West Australia’s ocean level will likely be 24cm higher and the fire season will be 40% longer – fuelled by these companies products.
So much for safety.
