Cottesloe has become the second council in the state of Western Australia to prevent fossil fuel advertising.
In July 2025, Council unanimously voted to “support the promotion of healthy choices” in the iconic beachside area.
It’s hoped the upcoming tender for bus shelter advertising will prohibit advertising for fossil fuels along with other products harmful to the community.
Implementing this requirement in an advertising tender is a major milestone for the Fossil Ad Ban campaign and we thank all Councillors for putting the community first.
